As a top manufacturer of steel tubes, we are striving to be“a company loved by all,” one that meets the needs of customers, and is friendly both to people and the environment.

Created on October 1, 2013 by a merger of the companies Sumitomo Pipe & Tube and Nittetsu Steel Pipe, Nippon Steel & Sumikin Pipe Co., Ltd. is the top manufacturer of welded steel tubes and is responsible for the electric resistance-welded pipe and tube business of the Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Group.

Sumitomo Pipe & Tube was founded in 1911 as the first electrical conduit manufacturer in Japan, and Nittetsu Steel Pipe was founded in 1933, and later operated the first machine in Japan producing electric resistance-welded tubes in 1948. During the past century, these companies have supplied high-quality electric resistance-welded tubes for a broad range of fields including transportation equipment, construction, and civil engineering.

In the future, this merger will allow us to combine the manufacturing technologies and expertise that our two companies have developed and apply them to synergistic effect as we work for even higher levels of customer satisfaction in areas including our broad product lineup, system of production and sales designed to meet market needs, quality control, and technical development.

Through effective use of business resources in and collaboration with the Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Group, we will accelerate our research and development including for the development of materials for stronger and lighter-weight electric resistance-welded tubes. We will also make use of the many new sites overseas gained by this merger in order to meet the needs of increasingly rapid globalization.

To increase the level of trust placed in us by our stakeholders, we will give top priority to safety, ensure complete compliance and construct an internal control system, and also conduct active programs to protect the global environment and other CSR activities.

We will continue our efforts to further satisfy customer needs, improve our technical capabilities, and be a well-loved company that is friendly to people and the environment. I would like to ask for your continued support.
